It might seem as though soccer players are a dime a dozen, but what separates the college bound players from the high school players is the level of commitment and loyalty to the team. While many of my teammates spent the last few years jumping from one club to another looking for more playing time, I stayed with my Princeton FC Everton club team. I felt a great sense of loyalty to my coach who trained me since I was 8 years old. Today, as a U18 player, I am one of two remaining original Everton players. I had a few opportunities in the past to transfer to other more "competitive" teams, but I chose to honor my commitment to my coach and team and focus on getting better on that same team. We've had many players come and go over the years but what remained constant was my ability to learn and fine tune my skills even as those around me changed. Playing with new players each year only helped me grow. This year, my hard work and loyalty to both my high school varsity team and my club team resulted in me being named Captain of both.
I feel my sense of loyalty and passion for the sport would make me a valuable asset to any soccer team. My passion for soccer also affects my academic pursuits. I plan to major in Sports & Entertainment Marketing. I am committed to being a respectable, hard working student athlete wherever I end up.
