My name is Jake Koslosky and I have been playing this wonderful sport for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was young I have always been drawn to it and enjoy every second on the field whether it be for a game, practice or just having fun with some friends. It has always been a goal of mine to play at the highest level and throughout my many years of playing, that feeling only grew. This goal has been extremely motivating and helped me to become the player and person I am today.
Throughout my years of playing, I have been on many teams and had the opportunity to play under a variety of coaches: Wayne Panthers, Elmwood Park Falcons, TSF, Coastal Sports, Cedar Stars Academy, and Wayne Hills Freshman to Varsity teams. These transitions made me develop many important skills, one of which is adaptiveness. With each new team came to a new style of coaching that I had to adapt to in order to improve as a player and perform to the increased standards of the team; this I thrived in. Along the way, I also played a variety of positions ranging from center back to striker, all of which I played the best I could, never gave up and furthered my understanding of each positions' role. Going from position to position also allowed me to be able to play competitively in each position on the field.
My current position, which I have the most fun in and perform the best in, is left and right midfield. This position fits me well as I have great stamina, I am light on my feet and I'm also pretty fast. More often than not, I outrun my opponents and get to the ball first or catch up to them, preventing them from scoring or counterattacking. I also have the vision and ability necessary to see an open teammate on the far said of the field and ping it to them which creates space and new scoring opportunities. Another Position I thrive in is right back or right wing back. When I first started playing soccer, this was where I played; over the course of my career, I continued playing this vital position and know what to do in any situation and execute it close to perfect.
On top of my achievements and skills in soccer, I have many, if not more, when it comes to academics. My motivation in soccer transitions into my motivation for school and education. I am a good student who always tries his best in class since I know what that my future will be a result of how well I do now, especially since college is right around the corner since I am currently junior. Because of this determination and ideology, I have great grades (averaging an A-) and am continuing to expand my knowledge. My favorite thing to learn about is Computer Science as I want to become a Computer Scientist in the future. I take have taken a number of AP courses and I am set to take even more my senior year.
