I have been involved in sports longer than I can remember. My mother and father were both athletic and encouraged us to participate athletically from a young age. I have always loved playing and I relish competition. My father coached collegiate soccer when I was younger and as a result I have been around soccer my whole life.
Since I became aware of competing in athletics at college, I have had the goal of playing soccer at a high level. I am extremely competitive and have always pushed myself to get an edge on my opponent. I have the mindset of being successful in every game I play.
I have played up a year or two my whole life. I have an older brother who is two years older than me. I have played with him and his friends on youth and high school teams. Due to my hard work and playing with older kids, I was placed on the varsity team my freshman year. We finished the regular season with a winning record, but lost our first post season tournament game. As a sophomore in high school, I was second on the team in goals (15) and assists (10). I ranked 5th in our league in goals scored. As a team we had a much better record and even won our division in the regular season, but once again failed to go very far in the post season. That was a difficult pill to swallow; however, I have attempted to use that disappointment as motivation to make myself a top player in the league this year as a junior. I hope to assist my team in winning our section, region, and possibly even state tournament in 2020-21.
I just found out that my school will be postponing our season from fall to spring due to COVID-19. In the meantime, I will be playing for my club team (2004 New York Rush, Albany, NY). I am anticipating a great year for both club and school.
