Thommy Mendez '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Thommy Mendez Vazquez, In classrooms teachers describe me as one of their best well educated and respectful students always hard working in the classroom, it's no different on the field. Coaches describe me as a leader who doesn't give up and works for what he wants and is very respectful and great listener. 

I have played soccer since i was 6, I grew love for the game as i got older. When the pandemic hit it's when I realized I needed to get serious and even though it was a bit of a catch up game I worked hard and got my opportunity on a USL Academy team. Many people doubted me and didn't have faith in me, but I worked in silence and let the results speak for themselves.  This motivates me day to day and teaches me that with hard work and dedication anything is possible, that's why I now aspire to be a professional soccer player one day. 

I can fit into any team, I'm always willing to learn, and give great competition to my team mates. This is why I believe I can play college soccer at any level, no matter what or who I won't step down from the challenge and give my all no matter what. I know i can bring great quality into any team and with that quality will also come a great student whose willing to learn both on and off the pitch. 

Coaches I hope you take me into consideration because I'm a well rounded teen whose willing to excel in classrooms and in soccer fields, and no matter the challenge I will work hard to go up against anyone despite age, size, and height.
