Nicola Marcucci '14 Recruiting Profile

I really just want to grow and improve at the sport that I love, not too much else. I am not trying to become a professional and make a living off of soccer, but I do want to take my game to the next level and test my abilities in one of the collegiate leagues. I have tremendous respect for the NCAA leagues, and I believe that there is no way to become a better athlete and player than to participate in college level competition.

I am academically sound, posting a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.6 at one of New York States most elite private high schools. I have been on the Honor Roll every year thus far in high school and was selected to the National Society of High School Scholars. I scored a 32 out of 36 on my last attempt at the ACT. I also participate in several extracurricular activities including Model U.N, Community Service Initiatives, and an Internship at the County Executives Office.

Athletically I have also excelled, I was selected to the 1st Team All-Lockport Tournament, 2nd All-Conference Team as well as the All-Section VI European Select Team. I was also voted the MVP of the Lockport Tournament by the coaches of the tournament and Team Offensive MVP by the athletes and coaches of the Nichols School Varsity Soccer Team. I led the team in assists and have been a starter since my Sophomore year. I also led my club team, Black Watch Premier, in assists every year I have been a part of the organization and have been also been a captain every year. My senior season was cut short after I tore several ligaments in my ankle in our third league game. Without me, Nichols Varsity Soccer went 1-8 with only two goals scored and I was given the Coaches Award at the end of the season for an outstanding start to my season and showing great perseverance and loyalty to my squad. 

My goals are quite simple: I want to become the best possible player that I can be and I want to continue to play the game that I love. If I can do that, I will be more than happy!
