Soccer is my passion. I've played soccer since I was four years old, and I can't even begin to explain the feeling I get when I step onto a soccer field. All that I can say is that it's an amazing feeling. When I play, I see and feel every part of the field. I know where my teammates are, where the ball is going to go, and I have developed a sense of where to put the ball, and where to put myself, for the best play. I enjoy a great defensive play, or setting my teammates up with a great pass, as much as I enjoy an assist or a scoring opportunity. I am a hard worker and look forward to putting in the effort it takes to play beyond high school.
During my most recent season, my junior year of Varsity soccer, I had a health problem that really impacted the way I was able to play. I played through the pain and did my best to help my team because I knew that they needed me for the rest of the season. I am now fully recovered and really looking forward to performing at my highest level in my upcoming sports seasons. Through that experience, I learned how to handle adversity, push myself beyond the pain and discomfort, and make the best of an unfortunate situation for the betterment of my team. Being a contributing member of a team is a big deal to me, and I take it very seriously. The team aspect of soccer is one of the things I most enjoy about the sport. I enjoy challenging myself and my teammates with a drive to perform at our highest level. When that drive leads us to win games together, that is a very special thing.
Soccer is a huge part of my life, but I also make sure to put in the time to excel with my academics. My personal mantra is to do everything I do to the best of my ability no matter what. My parents raised me that way, and I intend to never change that quality about myself. Through hard work and dedication to my studies, my teams, and my character, I've proven myself a positive influence academically, athletically, and in my community. I will carry these characteristics with me and would be honored to have the opportunity to play soccer for a team as part of my college experience.
