Personal Statement

Hello coaches, my name is Jacques Sousa. I will be a graduate of 2022 and my passion is soccer. Currently I am a right back for NCFC Youth ECNL U18/19 in Raleigh, NC but I can also play anywhere in the back line. The accomplishment I am most proud of while playing soccer was my season with U15 NCFC 04 ECNL when my team went to the 2019 ENPL Finals and finished 5th in the nation. When it comes to academics, I am just as serious about school as I am with soccer. I am enrolled in 2 AP classes and 2 honors classes for the 2020-21 school year.

I believe that I am a very disciplined and focused person on or off the field. I listen to my coaches and always do my best to execute their input and this translates to the classroom as well. I like to not only push myself, but my teammates too. I am interested in finding a school that provides challenges in the game and support in the classroom. I look forward to my college opportunities and welcome the challenges it may present.

2019 U16 NCFC DA/ECNL (Academy/ECNL)
Season was cut short due to Covid-19. Team was invited to play in the championship group of Jefferson Cup 2020 but unfortunately, the event was cancelled due to Covid-19 as well. Coached by Will Mack.
2018 U15 NCFC ECNL (ECNL)
Went to 2019 ENPL Playoffs and ENPL Finals. Finished 5th ranked nationally for the U15 ENPL age group. Coached by Douglas Prewett.
