Michael Matthews '20 Recruiting Profile

    My name is Michael Matthews.  I am an attacking/outside midfielder currently for Magic Soccer Football Club U18 in Bismarck North Dakota.  I attend Bismarck High School and I have been a starter for my varsity soccer team for three years.  I will graduate in 2020, carry a 3.80 GPA and wear jersey number fourteen for high school and club.

    I have been a soccer player since age four.  I have always had a passion for the beautiful game.  I am quick, have a good first touch and have the ability to make passes others can not.  I strive to play like Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne.  My proudest high school moment was our state championship in 2017.  I had three goals and led the team in assists with fourteen.

    I have always wanted to take my soccer game to the highest level.  I am very proud of being chosen to attend Global Image Sports National Academy in Georgia (2016) and then being chosen to attend training at West Ham United F.C. in London England (2017).  At the West Ham United Camp, I was able to tour Wembley and London Olympic Stadiums.  I went through the locker rooms, walked through the player entrance to the pitch and sat in the players' seating area.  I will work hard to make my dream of becoming a professional soccer player a reality
