Lyle Witt '27 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm Lyle. I am in the Class of 2027. I play goalie and forward for Barberton High School. I am a jack of all trades when it comes to features about myself. I have been playing soccer for around 10 years now and my life almost fully revolves around soccer. Doing good in school is also just as important and I do fairly well in school as I seek to get my associate's degree by the time I graduate high school. I am a good player because I like working with my team and treating them like they're part of my family. I also think I would be a good player because I never give up and always push through the obstacles in my life such as dealing with only having one eye, and also my problems with money and such things centered around that. I'm also a massive fan of the German National Team and Liverpool if you want to know. My GPA as of right now is around 4.2 out of 5 and I am taking a mix of college classes along with my high school core classes. In terms of my characteristics, I am a very pushy person who tries to help the team as a whole and never stops trying no matter how bad the team is doing. My main goal is to eventually go to The University of Akron because Akron has run through my family and I would like to play with them after going to so many games and watching the atmosphere that the team holds. It has been my goal since I first thought about the fact that I might be able to play college soccer. As per skills, I like to be a very active goalkeeper and like to be a mix of a sweeper keeper and a reaction keeper and I try to use my feet as much as I can. I am definitely one of the bigger goalies, so my reflexes aren't quite as good as others but that means that I can be more aggressive on incoming balls with my size. As of camps or clubs, I am very limited as to the money that I have so I don't really have the opportunity to attend any clubs or camps other than the Heidelberg University camp that my high school team attends annually.
