I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old and competitive club soccer since I was 7. I have always deeply enjoyed playing soccer, but I only recently felt the desire to play soccer in college during my freshman year of high school. I was sidelined my freshman year due to a hip injury that caused me to have surgery the summer before my freshman season, but that didn't stop me from soaking up as much knowledge as I could during my first year of competitive high school soccer. After hearing about the experiences that many of my coaches had playing college soccer, I felt very strongly about pursuing soccer in college. I believe that what sets me apart from other players is my work ethic and my mentality both on and off the soccer field, and that is why I believe that I have what it takes to play soccer in college. Despite not playing a minute of high school soccer my freshman year, I was able to work my way into the varsity starting lineup as a right back for my entire sophomore season and then started at center back my junior year and earned 1st Team All-League and 1st Team All-City awards. On my club team I have always been a vocal leader, and I feel like I am learning to step into that role on my high school team as well. I strive to be the best that I can possibly be in school, on the field, and as a person to those around me. I have aspirations to one day be valedictorian as well as possibly win a state title with my high school team. After high school, I want to attend a college and receive a degree, possibly in Chemistry or Pharmacy. I also want to play soccer for the college that I attend and be a contributing member of the team's success. To me, soccer has always been more than a game, it's been a place where I feel like I can show off my talents and qualities not only as a player but as a person.
