Luke Butzier '23 Recruiting Profile

Focus, hard work, and passion are characteristics that define me as an athlete, student, and person.  I take my school work serious in order to maintain my eligibility for soccer, to set a good example for my teammates, and to be a good teammate by being available to be on the pitch for every match.

I started playing soccer at a very early age of 4 years old.  Soccer has been my passion and desire for as long as I remember.  The game grabbed my attention due to it's constant action, one-on-one battles, and the euphoria that comes with scoring a goal.  My development in soccer has allowed me to play almost every position outside of goalie.  Recently, I have spent more time as an attacking midfielder, however, I have an understanding and appreciation for all position on the pitch.  Soccer is my passion.  It's a game I love to play and a game I excel at playing.

I take great pride in being a team leader either officially by being the match captain or through my actions on the field.  My teammates are well aware of my desire and expectation to win every match.  Winning is my passion and attitude I display each match.  Given the opportunity to continue toward my goal of winning in the classroom and on the pitch, doing what I love, would truly be a gift and an amazing experience.
