Zach Cochran '23 Recruiting Profile

As a student athlete, I desire to do well both in the classroom and on the pitch. From an academic point of view, my goal is to pursue a future career in business intelligence by earning a degree in one of the following areas: computer science/engineering, systems engineering, or quantitative analysis, with electives in business. I also possess a strong passion to continue playing soccer at the collegiate level. As a collegiate level student athlete, I plan on continuing to leverage my passion for soccer, while demonstrating my dedication and work ethic. I expect to become a leader on the team with results both on and off the field. I feel confident in my abilities to exceed this goal based on the success I have had during my Freshman year at Mason HS. Specifically, I earned my team’s “Green and White” Award (which is given to 1 student athlete that demonstrates exceptional work ethic, dedication, passion, and coachability for the season), while earning a 4.0 GPA in college prep courses.

From a soccer point of view, I am very athletic and great with both my feet and hands. I lead  both my HS and club teams on the field through effective and positive communication, while role modeling work ethic.  I am very coachable and desire to get better every day. My prior coaches have told me that I’m very good at stopping 1v1s and distributing the ball. From a personal recognition standpoint,  I’ve been selected for the Ohio South State ODP team for numerous years, and also have been selected as part of the Region II ODP regional pool for the past 2 years. I also have been selected to participate in the national Futsal ID trials.

In closing, it is very important to me that I give 150% effort all the time, in every aspect of my life. I study very hard and wish to attend a college that will challenge me both on the field and in the classroom to help me become the best person I can be. My goal is to become a successful student athlete, and above all, a better person and represent both my school and family to the best of my ability.
