I am a 2 year varsity starter for Solon High School soccer and was honored with 1st team All Conference this year. I also play for the 2006 Ohio Premier Futbol Club (OPFC). When I joined OPFC last year, my teammates accepted me right away. This was because, although I was a new player, I was able to quickly and seamlessly adapt to their playing style. After only being with the team for one year, we obtained impressive achievements playing at a high level. For example, I led my team to a victory in the US Club Soccer Ohio State Cup Super Group by saving 3 penalty kicks in the state semifinals. After winning the State Cup, we advanced to the National Cup Finals at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado.
I am a leader on my soccer teams with good communication on and off the pitch. One of my strong suits is that I am able to step off my line at the correct times and work with my defenders to switch the field. I also can command my box with balls out of the air, and I am not afraid to challenge any ball on a 1v1.
Although soccer is a significant part of my life and one of my greatest passions, I always put academics first. I plan to pursue a degree in engineering/computer science. Despite being involved heavily with two soccer teams and a volunteer organization, I was still able to achieve academic success taking multiple advanced classes. This past semester I achieved a 4.83 GPA and scored a 33 on the ACT (Math 35, Science 34, Reading 32, English 31).
