My freshman and sophomore years I was privileged to compete on highly successful high school teams, reaching the finals both years and winning Oregons 3A State Championship my freshman year. My sophomore year I was Catlin Gabel's starting attacking midfielder, leading the team with 13 assists alongside 10 goals. These successes have intensified my ongoing goals: continual improvement of strength and skill and ever-greater soccer performance.
I am a member of Rose City Prep (a top-tier technical training group) and Rose City Futsal (a futsal academy that recently won a world championship). These opportunities elevate my game and let me devote much of my weekends to soccer. Earlier this year, I was one of 16 players selected by USA Futsal to compete against other nations in Barcelona. The lure of Barcelona was strong, but given my commitment to academics and the rigorous nature of my college preparatory school, I chose classes over futsal.
For years I have competed with the local ODP program. Prior to ODP, I was part of its training program for younger athletes. In the 2016-17 ODP season, I was the starting attacking center midfielder in the Friendship Cup, a tournament of Northwest ODP teams and academies, including the Timbers, Sounders, Whitecaps, and Earthquakes. Despite taking a year off from ODP during 2017-18, I decided to rejoin the program this year and hope to become a positive attribute to the 2002 ODP team.
College will be a remarkable opportunity to propel my intellect, character, and game to the best possible levels of achievement. I have and will always look forward to new heights of challenge and accomplishment both on and off the field.
