I am Simon Gawlik and I have been playing club soccer since I was 8 years old. I started playing at the club level with United PDX, and currently I am a starter for Soccer Chance Academy Boys 07 Purple team at the premier level. My high school team is Grant High School, where I am also a starter.
On the pitch I’m a very versatile left footed player. My main position is left-back, but I can play outside back on either side of the field, as well as a winger on either side and defensive midfield. I also enjoy filling in at other more offensive-minded positions my team needs me to play when they have faced roster difficulties with injuries. During my time playing soccer I have faced some injuries, but I have always been able to move past them coming back stronger than before while keeping mental and physical discipline.
I take my studies just as seriously as I do soccer, and put the same focus and dedication into the classroom. I currently have a 3.75 GPA as a junior. I was nominated by my coach as a sophomore to be on the Student Athletic Leadership Team (SALT) and was a volunteer coach for the Mighty Mites soccer program for young kids as a junior.
As of now my goal is to take my soccer career to the next level playing in college, and I’m excited about what the future brings.
