Carlos Botiva Garcia '26 Recruiting Profile

SPAIN, INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

My name is Carlos Botiva, a center back. I was born and grew up in Madrid, Spain. The PASSION of soccer has been running through my blood and I reflect it every time I step on the field. I started playing soccer from a young age, and even after moving to the United States I have kept playing  travel-club and high school soccer. 

Not only do I love playing but also watching soccer anytime I can. I religiously follow the top five European Leagues and clubs, especially Atlético de Madrid. However, if I had to define how I play I’d say the player that I have most in common with is Puyol, since I am a leader that is always talking to his team and does not give up when playing defense.

Lastly, I also value academics since I still am a student-athlete.
