Rafa Westlund '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a 2024 winger from Portland Oregon. I have two years of experience playing for the top level academy Antiguoko KE in San Sebastian, Spain. This is the club that feeds into both Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao and has produced pros such as Xabi Alonso and Mikel Arteta. Being signed by and playing for such a club means that as a player I know what it is to compete for a position amongst some of the best youth players in the country. It means I know how to compete and excel in an environment in which players strive for exposure in front of Real Madrid, Villarreal, Real Sociedad, Athletic Bilbao, and in many cases,  the Spanish National team. 

I believe that my best attributes are my first touch, foot skills, and finishing. I have been praised by coaches for my speed and positional awareness on the field. 

Additionally I carry a 4.0 GPA as an IB student. I am ranked 1/372 students in my high school class and am fluent in Spanish, French, and English.  I play acoustic and electric guitar, I am a visual artist, and  as a development intern, I work to raise money for an Oregon-based scholarship for Black Oregon Women.
