Personal Statement
Ever since I competed for the first time in gymnastics at age 5, I knew I wanted to be a college athlete. After 12 years of gymnastics resulting in a few surgeries, I decided to retire and I truly believed it was the end of my athletic career. Although this thought persisted, I was told high level gymnasts often adapt to the sport of diving quickly, and eager to find that passion again, I tried out. The moment I got my first dive, I was only determined to get more. I soon realized my dream of being a collegiate athlete was possible again. This motivates me day in and day out at practice and I have not only gained a serious passion for the sport, but a family of teammates who supports me with every move. I want nothing more than to create these life long friendships in college, all while fulfilling my dream of competing at one of the highest levels and contributing to my college's success.
