Gage Meckley '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Gage Meckley. I am a high school student at Warwick High School graduating class of 2022. I have been playing organized soccer since I was 8 years old, and as long as I could remember, soccer has been my greatest passion. This passion and appreciation of the game has increased while playing high school ball and high level club soccer. It has always been a goal of mine to play soccer in college at a high level. I believe, I would thrive at any collegiate soccer program because of my versatility as a player.  With my skill set, at the college level, I could be a dangerous and effective wing back. 

Over the past few years, I have played all over the field (except for Keeper), and most recently playing Center Forward for Club and our offensive production has taken off since that move. My junior year of school ball, the team needed me at Center Back, and I worked hard to create offensive chances from the back, which has made me one the top goal scorers for my school team that year. 

I was a captain for my team as a junior and have been a starting varsity player since my sophomore year.  This has taught me great leadership skills and the ability to work well with any type of player.  Playing on both a high-level club team and high school team has also  taught me how to communicate with different types of players.  Soccer is a very important part of my life, but I know  academics are very important for my future. I use my competitiveness from the soccer field to also excel in the classroom.  I have been able to juggle both a successful year-round soccer career and academic career.  My dedication, talent, coach-ability, soccer IQ, grit, and support of my family,  is what would make me an asset to any soccer team and their school.
