Ciro Matteucci '25 Recruiting Profile

I’m Ciro. I am Argentine, and since 2019, I have been living in Mexico with my family. In 2023, I relocated to the United States to attend Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania.

My soccer journey started at the age of three when I first kicked a ball. Since then, I’ve been relentlessly pursuing my passion. I’ve played for school teams, local clubs, and participated in inter-school championships.

At 12, I moved to Mexico and joined Pumas, a professional Mexican team’s academy. However, the pandemic forced me to leave. I found myself in a new country, at a different school, without friends, isolated, and it was very difficult, but I focused on my goals and dreams, leaning on my family for support. This period was crucial for me, and I developed my resilience, perseverance, and discipline.

After the pandemic, I joined a club and participated in inter-club tournaments, scoring numerous goals and making many assists. I thoroughly enjoyed playing soccer, my greatest passion. Before moving to the U.S., I joined Arietes FC, a fourth division Mexican team, scoring goals and getting more experience in a higher level. After a very good season i change club, going to a third division team called Còrdobes FC, where I intensified my training and competed against higher-tier clubs. 

Starting at Perkiomen was a great challenge: a new environment and a different language. With perseverance, I achieved excellent academic results, made new friends, and became part of a great community.

At Perkiomen, I joined the varsity team and had a remarkable season. We qualified for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Cup, reaching the final. Although we did not win, we played intensely and learned valuable lessons from every victory and defeat. My coach recommended me to join HEX FC (ECNL/USYS), a team competing in MLS Next tournaments. I have already been training with them alongside my school team during the 2023-2024 season, preparing to be part of the team in the 2024-2025 season.

My goal in attending college is to integrate my strong academic performance with athletic excellence, to play soccer, be an integral part of a team, and continue growing and learning each day.

I bring a unique blend of diversity, generosity, and team spirit, supported by years of dedicated personal effort. I am fully prepared to contribute at a high level, aiming for team success and personal pride. I am eager to be part of something greater and contribute to building a better society from my position.
