Alec Vattula '27 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I’m Alec Vattula, Class of 2027.

I play for Beadling and North Allegheny High School Varsity in Pittsburgh, PA.

I’m known for my speed, relentless work ethic, and ability to elevate team performance. One of my key strengths is versatility—I’m confident playing as a winger, outside midfielder, or outside back. I excel at dribbling, creating space under pressure, and breaking defensive lines. I bring a competitive edge, high energy, and a constant drive to improve every time I step on the field.

I’ve competed in the top youth platforms in the U.S.—including MLS Next, ECNL, and ODP—with the majority of my experience coming through MLS Next, where I’ve consistently shown I can be an impact player at the highest levels.

This July, I’ll be heading to Finland to train with a top U17 team in preparation for the upcoming U.S. season. Over the past five summers, I’ve trained in Europe with elite Finnish clubs like HJK Helsinki and FC Honka, both of which feature multiple youth national team players. Competing against international players has sharpened my technical and tactical game—and made a major difference in my development.

In 2024, I trained with one of Finland’s top youth academies and made my debut in the U15 Finnish top division. As a dual citizen of the U.S. and Finland (EU), I’ve had unique opportunities to train and compete internationally and adapt to different playing styles and systems.

In summer 2023, I was scouted by FC New England to compete in the Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden. We advanced to the playoffs and faced top teams from Denmark, Sweden, Spain, and Lithuania. While there, I was also scouted by a leading Swedish youth academy and invited for a trial.

Looking ahead, I’ll be moving up to play with Beadling’s 2008/2007 age group in the Great Lakes Alliance, where I’ll be challenged by players up to two years older. It’s an important step as I prepare for my junior and senior high school seasons—and ultimately, for college soccer.

I’m currently looking for a college that offers both high-level academics and the opportunity to continue developing as a soccer player. I’d love to learn more about your program and how I might be a strong fit.
