Zachary Chamberlin '16 Recruiting Profile

Like every other kid, I started playing soccer at a very young age. From the very moment I started playing, I fell in love with the game. As time has passed and I got to playing high school soccer, that love has only grew. And so has my knowledge and passion for the game as well as my skill. I went from being the last guy off the bench my freshmen year on my JV team to captaining the JV team sophomore year and leading them to the state high school JV semi-final playoff where we lost in pks to the eventual champions. That spring our travel team came out on top of the RI cup playoffs when we entered the tournament the 7 seed out of 8 teams, where we beat the undefeated Providence team in the championship, a team we previously lost to in the regular season by a score of 7-1. I have continued to play soccer year round as I play high school in the fall, indoor soccer in the winter, spring travel soccer, and summer league between some of the best soccer players on Aquidneck Island. Junior year, I found myself starting full-time on varsity and loved it. The speed, intensity and passion of the varsity games was best suited for me and was just another thing that I feel in love with the game about. With the competition growing, I knew that I had to grow as a player as well. Any chance given to play soccer I will take to try and improve as a player. I am committed to being faster, stronger and better than everyone else around me. On the field I feel I can and will not be beat and if I am, I make sure that it doesn't happen again. Character is key in soccer and as long as you respect the game, I feel you're always playing it the right way. No one wants to be a college athlete more than me and I am dedicated my time and efforts fully to try and get there some day.
