I started playing soccer nearly 12 years ago, through AYSO. After playing for AYSO for a couple years, and realizing that I enjoyed soccer as more than just a pastime, I switched clubs to join CFC (Carolina Football Club) in Spartanburg, SC, where the level of play provides more competition and challenge. I also played middle school soccer at Oakbrook Preparatory School, which was very successful as we were undefeated for 2 years and I was awarded MVP both years as well. In 9th grade I switched to Dorman High School, where the educational challenges and level of competition in the soccer program were much better. After being the captain on the JV team my freshman year, I have been on the Varsity team for the past two years, and I was the sole captain during this past season, where we won the Regional Championship. I have been selected to be part of the SC ODP team for the past 3 years, and have enjoyed competing at an intense level in the ODP Regional summer camps each year.
As a player, I am most comfortable in defensive positions, as I am 6'3", 185 pounds, and still very fast and light on my feet. I take pride in leading teams from the back, and one of my strongest qualities is communication through organizing the back line and the entire team on the field. Regarding leadership, I was also selected to join “Cavaleaders,” a program at my high school that identifies student-athletes with leadership potential and helps foster collaboration among the various sports teams.
From an academics standpoint, I am an exceptional student as well. I have a GPA of 5.219 and I pursue challenging AP and Honors classes at Dorman, as well as Dual-enrollment classes through colleges in our community. I am currently ranked 7th out of my class of 760, and plan to continue climbing. My SAT score is 1360, and my ACT score is 30. As I look into different colleges, I focus heavily on the academic fit for my areas of interest, which include business entrepreneurship, finance, and marketing.
I have also been active in areas outside of soccer and academics. I am a member of the engineering club at my school, as well as the Beta Club and National Honors Society. I have been in Boy Scouts for as long as I can remember, and I am actively working to complete my final project to achieve the advancement of Eagle Scout. I am active in my church at First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg, and have participated in several mission trips. I hope that this statement has been informational to you, and that you will review my profile to learn more about me.
