Personal Statement
Since I was 4 I’ve had a love for soccer which has grown into a desire to be the best and play at a top level. I have enjoyed learning how to play the sport, learning the importance of a team and how to bring out the best in myself and teammates. I am driven and highly competitive and I want to be the best I can be in soccer.
Soccer has taught me that in order to be the best I have to put in the extra effort, which has pushed me to ensure that I spend additional time practicing and building my physical strength outside of the normal practice time. It has also taught me not to be afraid to take risks as well as to know that I must keep trying if something doesn't go well.
My desire to play at a high level has given me a high competitiveness that has translated into the classroom and allowed me to have a 4.0 GPA. A good education is a priority for me and I plan on maintaining a strong gpa. In addition, staying involved in the community is extremely important to me because I know it is important to give back. I am a volunteer with “The Cancer Kickers Soccer club” where I write letters to support kids who have cancer. I exhibit leadership as the sophomore class Vice President for my school where I work with the student council to make decisions about activities to benefit our class. I believe that my leadership skills, community involvement and strong dedication to the sport will allow me to rise to the challenge and be successful in my goals.
