Personal Statement
Soccer has been an important piece of my life since I was three years old. My family’s love for soccer, through watching it on T.V and backyard soccer games, has impacted me greatly. I transitioned to competitive soccer at seven years old with Memphis Futbol Club, to which I have been exclusively committed to for ten years.
I learned hard work and commitment through the sport of soccer, and I developed loyalty and coachability through working with others. Working with six different coaches over the years, I know the importance of taking the coaches advice and adding my own creativity to it on the field. I am seeking a college environment with a group of people willing to work hard for a common goal.
Earning my college degree is very important to me because even though both my parents have a college degree, they had to earn it later in life. I see the benefit of obtaining my college degree right after high school, and I am hopeful for the opportunity to play at the collegiate level. My goal is that through both college soccer and higher education, I will have the tools to pursue either a career in psychology or in professional soccer.
