Benjamin Young '24 Recruiting Profile

Soccer has been apart of my life since 2009, when I kicked a ball at the local recreational game for the first time, and since then I have developed a passion for the game and learning about it. I always try to integrate soccer into my schedule whenever the time allows from school, whether that be with a ball at my feet on the training ground or watching the Saturday morning Premiere League matches. I would love to play at a collegiate level, to ensure that I can continue to play the game I love at an even higher level of competition. 

On the field, I am described as a excellent leader, as evident by my captaincy for both school and travel soccer. I use my communication skills to help develop build up play and keep my team's morale high. I also have exceptional passing, as I can find gaps in the defensive line to send threatening through balls and create chances on goal. Additionally, I have a strong work ethic on the pitch, especially when playing against stronger players and teams. A recent example would be my contributions to my clubs 2004 team, who won a tournament with the help of a goal and two assists from me. 

While I put a lot of time and energy into the game, I also make sure that my schoolwork is completed before soccer. I currently have a 4.0 GPA with several AP and honors classes under my belt. My ACT score also demonstrates my academic capabilities, as I scored a 28 on my first test.
