Ian Del Real '26 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Ian Del Real,

I am a 2026 Idea Quest College Preparatory alumni from Edinburg Tx. I play forward and left midfielder. 

I have been playing soccer since I was around 2 years old. It has been a growing passion of mine through out the years, and I have always dreamed of playing at the college level. Knowing how difficult it is the reach the opportunity to play at that level, I have worked hard to try and grow as a player and student. 

 My strengths include, playing well under pressure, good passing and vision of the game, very good speed, a good finishing, and being ambidextrous. I am a team player, trying to involve the people around me, an example of this can be trying to get my team in a more positive attitude even when we are losing. I believe to be a very well behaved athlete and coachable, assisting coaches to set up before practice and also open to new ideas. I also step up if the occasion calls for it, for example, given the responsibility to be the captain at some of the games this season because others were absent. 

I have been working my skills in soccer all year to prepare for the season, attending practices and summer leagues with different teams, joined an academy for Club de Futbol Monterrey Rayados F.C. this year and will play for them for the rest of the year. At the moment i’m also playing in the 3rd division of Mexican soccer. I also participate in other sports like club volleyball with RGV flames while also being captain for them.

When it comes to the classroom, I work hard to grow my GPA and ACT scores. Having a 4.09 weighted GPA, while my schedule has 6 AP courses and I take a class to grow my ACT scores. I have gotten A&B honor roll 1 year, and I am enroll in academic organizations like STXI which is a student run organization to bring together a community of students and hear about outstanding speakers from all across the Rio Grande Valley.

I want to attend college to reach new heights and push myself in the classroom and the field alike. I am open to any options and I am looking for the right match for me, where I can compete and study equally as hard. I hope to grow as a person and make the people around me proud.
