Personal Statement

  • I have played soccer since the age of four and ever since then, soccer has been my absolute passion.
  • During my sophomore year in high school, I decided that I wanted to play soccer in college.
  • I want to play soccer in college more than anything and see where it takes me after that
  • I completely understand that academics come first
  • I have been on the AB Honor Roll every semester in my high school career
  • During my sophomore year, I was a bronze medalist for the National Spanis exam
  • The National Spanish Exam is a test taken by all students in the country who take Spanish
  • I've always been a natural leader
  • I am very outspoken and talk a lot on the field
  • My teammates recognize me as their leader and listen because they know that I can be trusted and they that I know what I am talking about
  • I work extremely hard for something that I want
  • I am very coachable
  • I am open to new ideas but also know what is best for the team
  • I have been a part of the past two state championship winning teams at Nolan
  • I started every game at center back on JV as a freshman
  • I started most of the games on Varsity during my sophomore year but appeared in all games and played a big role in reaching and winning a state championship
  • I have started almost every game this year, Junior year, at center back and have helped lead the team to another State Final Four Tournament
  • I have appeared in every game while on Varsity
  • I will stand up for any of my teammates
  • I absolutely refuse to give up no matter the score or the circumstances
  • Whenever I hit a slump academic wise, I get help from teachers and work extremely hard to get out of that slump
  • I will always help anybody in need, whether on the soccer field or in the classroom
  • I consider myself a student of the game
  • I am always either watching soccer on tv or playing soccer?
  • I have played club soccer since the age of 11
  • I played a big role in helping the team be promoted from Division 3 to Division 1 in a 2 year span
  • I am currently my club team captain
  • Every player on my club team looks up to me as their leader and trusts me to do my job
  • During my Boy Scout career, I have held every leadership position and am currently the gearmaster (3rd in charge) in a boy led troop of 50 scouts
  • In 2011, I was chosen by my peers to be the Chaplain's Aide.I was responsible for the spiritual and emotional well-being of a group of 12 fellow scouts while on our trek at Philmont
  • Philmont is a national Boy Scout Camp in New Mexico that entails hiking a minimum of 60 miles in 2 weeks in the mountains of Cimarron
  • In 2013, I was chosen by my peers to be the crew leader of our trek at Philmont. I was responsible for all logistics and everything concerning our trek
  • In 2010, my Boy Scout troop was planning to take a trip to Switzerland to an International Boy Scout Camp. In order to prepare for this, I raised nearly $2000 on my own to pay for my whole trip to Switzerland by mowing the yards of my family members and neighbors
  • In my eighth grade year, I had the second highest amount of service hours totaling over 200 hours
  • Over the last four years, I have recorded over 500 service hours by volunteering as a soccer coach at my old elementary school, volunteering as a concession stand manager at Texas Christian University(TCU) football games, erecting flags in my neighborhood on national holidays, volunteering at my school's bible camp, and leading a soccer donation drive for the Fort Worth Boys and Girls Club
  • I am very giving of my time and always enjoy giving back to those who once gave to me
