2017 Highlights
Dallas Cup Finals...
Just named Second Team ALL - DISTRICT Frisco ISD
My name is Ethan Ledbetter, I will graduating in June 2018 from Reedy High School in Frisco, Texas. I am a left-footed defender/mid-fielder for my club team, Solar Chelsea 99B coached by Grant Sawyer. I run a 40 yard dash in 4.3 seconds and my 1 mile is paced at 5:15. I am fast and athletic. You will not find much about Reedy HS as this Senior class is the first ever graduating class because Frisco has built so many new schools.
I would like to share some information about myself. In 2006, my family moved from Texas to Maryland and we lived in Ellicott City. I have had some awesome experiences playing Region 1 soccer, playing against some great opponents. While in Maryland, my club teams traveled extensively. We traveled to Virginia, Delaware, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania and New York. I played for the Baltimore Bays (which became the Baltimore Celtics) and OBGC (Olney) Rangers. Not only did I play club soccer but, I also played for Marriotts Ridge High school. I was one of two freshman on my high school varsity team and lettered during my time playing at Marriotts Ridge. In 2015, my family relocated back to Texas and I had one night to showcase my talent to Coach Suarez with FC Dallas Academy. I made the team and trained with FC DALLAS ACADEMY and double carded for FC DALLAS Premier under Coach Clem.
As a soccer player, I have speed and quick decision-making abilities. I am excellent at playing the long ball in behind the defense as well as keeping possession with 1-2 touch soccer. As a student, I am a member of the National Honor Society, I was hand selected by the Mayor to be on the Mayor's Youth Council (Frisco, Texas) 2016-2017 and was awarded The President's Education Award for Academic Achievements. I have 2 years of (PTLW) Project Lead the Way in Engineering and I have over 300 hours of community service under my belt.
I am interested in Engineering and/or Business. I have told many people that I would like to obtain my CPA license post-graduation from college. Many of my courses at Reedy High School are AP courses. I am looking for a college/university that has a top ranked Business school or Engineering program. I had been looking at Military academies but found out I needed letters of recommendation and I don't have the right connections and I no longer have the time to be considered for Air Force or Army/West Point. I want to find a school that has great academics and good soccer. If I can't find the combination I am willing to let go of soccer altogether and focus on school.
How am I different from other recruits in character, athletics and academics? I believe I am a well-rounded student. I take on the tough courses and succeed in them. I take school as seriously as I take playing soccer. I mentor players on my team as well as mentor other students in my classes. I am what my friends call a "home body". If I am not on the field playing a game or working out at practice, I am at home hitting the books and staying ahead of class assignments. I consider playing soccer my occupation at this time. I work hard at it and when I am not at school or studying I am thinking about soccer and/or training for games, watching videos to see how I can integrate what I see into my game. I know there is always room for improvement. Anytime a coach or trainer tells me I need to adjust what I am doing, I work hard to do what they have asked of me. Staying close to my roots is important to me, I have stayed in touch with many of my former teachers in Maryland, most of them will tell you, "I am one of the most mature students they have ever had the pleasure of teaching". Many of them want to be references for my college applications.
I think the most important thing I can say is, I listen to my parents. I value what they tell me and I know they won't steer me wrong. I am a friend and a teammate and I value people, that's about all I can say about myself.
