Personal Statement

Excels on teams that require a strong defense and a fearless goalkeeper...

I am an All-American Youth Soccer, and ECNL/RL player who has always played up on teams, and who aspires to attend a D1 University and to go on to become a professional Goalkeeper. I am an honor roll student with an entrepreneurial spirit.  I feel like I have to be more aggressive when I play in goal.  I'm a hard worker when I need to be, but I also like to have fun.  

As a person I strive to be better, and to not make the same mistakes that I have already made.  I can connect with my team mates, and I build trust with my team mates.  When I am playing for my teams, and it is a big moment, I tend to be a lot more focused, because I realize how big an opportunity these events are.  When a player scores on me, I get upset, but I also try to shake it off.  I try to be a leader on the field, and I strive to be the best Goalkeeper that I can possibly be.  I also believe that I can help my teams become better, as I have always been on teams, where they needed a good goalkeeper.  The teams weren't always the best, but I knew that I could help the team out so they could become better.  

When it comes to Goalkeepers, I try to be like Edwin van der Sar who was a Manchester United and Ajax Goalkeeper.  He was one of the best Goalkeepers of all time.  To date, I have made in excess of 2,500 saves in 200+ games, and have maintained an overall save rate of 86% since I started playing Goalkeeper at age 8.  

From an academic standpoint, I would like to go to school for business, and would eventually like to start my own company.  In fact, I started my own business in 2023 as a thirteen year old, buying and selling sports cards both online via eBay, but also at card shows.  I also have an English father and great grandparents who were Irish.

In conclusion, I would like the opportunity to play for a college team, where I can help them grow and win.

  • 1st Team Captain for his new High School (Freshman for all 18 games that he played), this is the only Boys soccer team. It is also an all Freshman team.

  • The ECRL team only played one tournament in 2024/2025, and they came away as Champions. Austin played on both the 09 Austin Texans ECNL/RL and 10 teams. The 2010 team played every game with between 8 and 10 players only, in order to make them a stronger team!
  • 2024 All American Selected Youth Player (National (Includes players from 10 nations, MLS Academies, and other top players from across the United States.))
  • Selected as an All American player to play against teams and with players from MLS Acadamy players from throughout the US, Mexico and Canada. Participated in tournaments in Naples, FL, Mesa, AZ, and in Dallas and Round Rock, TX. Was selected and invited to play on their national team in June 2023 to play in Panama Beach, FL and Virginia Beach. Earned the Golden Gloves in 2023 for an All American Tournament in Round Rock, TX. Invited to attend the Golden Cup in Round Rock, TX in December 2024.

  • Joined a start up AYSO team that was created in 2023 in Leander, Texas. He plays as the #1 Goalkeeper on the U15 team. He was an initial player on the first U15 team created for this club. This club is associated with AYSO teams in other states.
  • 2024 Red Hawks FC (Indoor Soccer Team) (Select U16)
  • Division Champions. Scored a penalty and a goal from his goal box. Had two penalty saves.

  • Played as the #1 Goalkeeper on the 8th Grade team as a 7th Grader. Plays again as the 8th Grade #1 Goalkeeper. Also played as right wing for his middle school team and scored twice in the 2024 season.

  • Played in the Georgetown Soccer Association (GSA) between the Spring of 2020 and the Spring of 2023 as the #1 GK on the U11, U12, U13, U14 and U-15 teams. Had 1,491 saves and maintained an average save rate of 85% while at GSA. Overall has maintained an 85% save rate as a Goalkeeper.

When he was invited in December 2022, there were 700 players, from 40 different states and 10 different countries represented. Invitees are some of the top players from MLS Next, MLS Academies and from across different countries. and states. His team won 7 of 8 games, losing the final. The tallest Goalkeeper in his division was 6ft 2in and an MLS Academy goalkeeper. Their team scored on him 12 times. Austin has also picked up the nickname "Texas Jed" from members of the Alaskan ODP team due to his ability in goal and his similarity to an Alaskan ODP Goalkeeper as well.

  • Played in this nationally sanctioned Keeper Wars tournament in December 2023. Played in the 13-15 year old bracket. Was the highest placed 13 year old with missing 4th place by one less goal scored. Lost to the #4 player by one goal (14) and the #1 overall winner who was an MLS Next 15 year old. There were 20 players in the division. The tournament included 160 Goalkeepers from 9 different states. Austin was recognized by others due to how he played and how he played in prior tournaments. In fact, as he travels now, people tend to remember him at other events even though they may have been a few years a part. Austin tends to standout.
