2021 Spotlight
Aidan Williams #27My parents enrolled me in a "soccer tot" program at the age of 2. The coaches were gathering all the kids together and I was off at the other end of the field by myself. One of the coaches came over to me and said that I shouldn't be scared, that we were going to have fun and play some games. I told her that I wasn't scared, I was here to play soccer. She took me aside and ended up training me one on one every session. I instantly fell in love with the game.
I have played other sports (baseball and basketball), but my passion has always been soccer. On the field you are constantly thinking ahead. You are thinking on your feet and have to be prepared for the what if's. Soccer has provided me the skill set to be a leader, team player, working through problems. It has shown me you will have your off days and best days and through those I have learned how to address life's issues.
I am leading my high school team with assists. I received DFW High School Athlete of the week. I’m a strong team player and have a hard work ethic.
My love of the game has led me to want to pursue a degree in Business/Finance. I love the leadership, planning and strategy that sports has to offer. You learn a lot of skill sets by doing something you enjoy. Sports can bridge the gap for so many people. It opens doors that you aren't even aware of. Like the door for pursuing my education in Business/Finance. This will allow me to continue my passion and turn it into success for my future.
