My name is Tyler Griffin and I am a Junior at Rowlett High School. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old and at the club level since I was 7. I aspire to play at the college level and, hopefully, beyond. I played other sports growing up including baseball, basketball and track, but quickly discovered my true passion was soccer. I love soccer because it's a fast-paced sport that allows me to utilize my speed and agility as a defender.
The statistic from my past season with both Solar Soccer Club and Rowlett Hight School that I am most proud of is the trust my coaches had in me which was demonstrated by my playing minutes. My past season at Solar we went undefeated in USYS Premier League finishing 2nd, as well as finishing 2nd in D1 North Texas in which we played a total of 64 games between both leagues and tournaments. Of the 5,120 minutes (64 games) I started and played all but 40 minutes at right center back. My past season playing on varsity for Rowlett High School as a Sophomore we finished 1st in district and played a total of 27 games including playoffs and tournaments. Of the 2,160 minutes (27 games) I started and played all but 150 minutes at right wing-back. I was also proud of my ability to handle the on-field workload while maintaining my top 10% class ranking in the classroom.
I believe the discipline I have gained form playing competitive soccer has made me a better student and my ultimate goal is to attend a university that challenges me both academically and athletically. I am a hard worker and very coachable and would consider myself an asset to any college soccer program.
