Jonathan LaBry '24 Recruiting Profile

In my annual assessments from my coaches, the praises I get most often are that I'm coachable and responsive, understand the field of play, play strategically, and am a solid team player and playmaker who looks for the best opportunity. I am a very versatile player and compete anywhere that I am needed. I have experience in every area of the field, but have played primarily in forward and attacking positions.  I am a  hard-working player who always gives every minute of a match my all.

I have been playing soccer since I was five. As I moved into competitive-aged soccer, I began playing club soccer at FC Dallas-Frisco and then Houston Dynamo-The Woodlands when my family moved to Houston during my junior high years. I started off playing a left-mid position, but as I got older I was switched to a right-mid/right-wing as well as right back. 

For the 2020-21 season, my Houston Dynamo club coach had me playing striker much of the time. I have been moved up to Houston Dynamo's pre-academy level for the 2021-22 season, and am playing a combination of forward and right-back depending on our opponents and players available. 

As a Freshmen at College Park High School, a 6A school in The Woodlands, TX (Conroe ISD), for 2020-21, I was a pre-season starter who was moved up to Junior Varsity at the beginning of the season and was a starter for every game playing a variety of forward and mid-field positions, and usually for the entire game. During my freshman year, I was always on the leader board for goals and assists and received the JV MVP Award for the 2020-21 season. 

I am continuing to play at both the pre-academy club level and 6A Texas high school for the 2022-23 season.
