James VandeHei '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a Junior at St. Stephens and St. Agnes school. I have a 3.5 gpa and am a strong student at a very academically rigorous school. I am the starting CB for Alexandria SA MLS Next team. I am also comfortable playing CDM. I made the varsity team for St. Stephens and St. Agnes as a freshman and have been playing club soccer for Alexandria Soccer since I was 7. I have been on the top team every year. I run a 5:30 mile.  I competed in the 2021 MLS Next Tournament in Norco Ca. I played ODP from u13-u15. I made the state team every year and was rostered for all of the friendlies. I was on the top team for the ODP Northeast Regional Championship where we were finalists. I was picked both years to travel internationally with my ODP team. We traveled to Holland, Germany, and France. I also traveled with my club team to play in Spain and Italy. In the winter and summer I play futsal. This year we competed in the USSF Futsal National Championships and won.  I am focused on academics and soccer. I am a leader on and off the field and always try to bring energy to every team I play with. My goal is to keep excelling academically and athletically so that I can play college soccer at the highest level while getting a good education.
