My name is Jakob Goldup, I currently play soccer for Arsenal FC-AYSO1475. I am also playing on Virginia's 2024 U17 ODP team and last year was named Captain for the Deep Creek High School Junior Varsity Team in Chesapeake, Virginia. I have been playing soccer for 11 years with the last 7 years being at the travel level.
For as long as I can remember soccer has been an important part of my life and who I am. I feel most at ease on the pitch with all my friends. One of my greatest strengths is a high soccer IQ which allows me to be used in a multitude of different positions.
The positions I play best are forward, winger or central attacking midfielder. Where depending on what the team needs, I can beat players with speed, physicality, vision, or skill. I work hard during practice and during games I give each run my all, frequently creating havoc with pressure and punishing opponents for their mistakes.
I plan to study Sports Management when I attend college, and once my playing days are complete I want to use that degree to share my love of the sport by working as a coach or scout.
