Personal Statement
I first started playing soccer at the age of eight, not knowing that it would take me this far. I was very fortunate to have amazing coaches that would help me grow and thrive. Throughout my years of playing, winning all the trophies and tournaments were really fun, but I have also noticed that it has really helped me improve as a person, too. I have learned several things about myself through playing this sport, including the fact that I put other people before myself and I don't like leaving anyone behind. I actually received the nickname from my team “the protector,” because I wouldn’t let anyone mess with my team -- if they did, they certainly wouldn’t do it again. I have also realized that I am very driven. I don't like to stop until that specific task has been finished. Apart from sports, academics has always been and important factor in my life. I never want to be just satisfactory. I’ve always wanted to consistently perform to the best of my abilities on and off the pitch. I am looking for a program where I can continue to thrive athletically and academically. I have realized how important teamwork, commitment, and sacrifice is when it comes to being a good teammate. I believe that as long as I keep putting in the work and improving my game that I could one day be a great addition to a collegiate team.
