Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Tyler Collins. I am a Junior who attends Grove Christian School and I have been playing soccer for 8 years. I am sending this to a list of coaches who I would love to be discovered by so I could potentially play for them. I played a lot as a kid because my dad shares the love for the sport and played in lots of adult leagues. I went into playing the sport on a varsity level team in 2015 as a 7th grader. Sitting on the bench not getting very many minutes and spectating the game as I learned. As the years progressed, I got better and began to get more minutes. As my Freshman year came around I became a starter and really started excelling in my skill. My ball handling and passing became crisp and clean, this is when I realized my love for the sport. My sophomore year I played in a tournament at a camp called Northbay over the summer with some friends, we demolished this tournament placing first. During the school year I was on both teams for my school, I was the captain of the JV team and the assistant captain of the Varsity team. This was by far my best season, my team placed second in the tournament losing 0-2. My Junior year we lost a lot of good players and it became a rebuilding year, I was the only captain and had to make lots of sacrifices for the team. By now my ball handling, passing, footwork and shooting has arrived on a new level and I would like to carry it on into college. I do not currently have any film yet but I plan on getting some of my senior season. I also plan on joining a club soccer team in the summer of 2020. In the off season I play basketball and I run track to stay conditioned. I do long jump, triple jump, 300 and 110 meter hurdles for track. Thank you for your time and I hope to talk to you, below I will post my stats from my Sophomore and Junior year seasons and some of my academic achievements.
