My recent training in Spain has helped me grow as a person and player. At the TOVO Academy I learned a new way to see and appreciate the game. I feel TOVO has given me a better understanding of what to do with the ball and where to move off the ball. This experience has reinforced my desire to play in college and has given me confidence both on and off the field. The structure of two trainings a day, along with time to reset and do school work, helped me to better understand what it will be like in college.
My desire to play started when I was 8. I spent several weekends with family friends who had a son and daughter that are slightly older than me. They both played soccer and trained with the top teams of their club, so they spent lots of time playing soccer with me for fun. I was like the annoying little brother who went with them everywhere for soccer whether it was free play, practice or a game - if there was soccer being played I wanted to be there. The following Spring I tried out and made the travel program. Not much has changed since then - soccer is my passion. I will begin my 10th year with Richmond Strikers in the Fall.
When I graduate in June of 2020 I don’t want my time playing soccer on a competitive team to end. I’m looking forward to finding a coach and program that will continue my growth as a player.
