My name is Thomas Meritt and I am here to talk about my life and who I am. I grew up playing soccer my whole life, it has brought many ups and downs. From the time I lost my first ever actual game or when my team and I went far into our season. My first ever soccer tryout for the school was in 7th grade and I didn't make the team, and that hurt a lot. It pushed me to try harder and harder. Then came 8th I tried out and made the team, I was the happiest I ever was until I got back to my place. I got home with great news that I made the team, little did I know that my dad just passed away in a car accident. Now, I'm not trying to use that to guilt trip anyone but that was an important event in my life that made me want to pursue soccer in my life. I worked hard and became a starter for my 8th grade team and we ended up going undefeated, if we aren't counting our last game, which sucked a lot. I grew up and started thinking about where I wanted to be in life. My first year of high school was rough, it was a lot more harder academically more than anything. So I decided to try extra hard the last couple years I have left in high school and hopefully achieve what I know i can be.
Thank you coaches, for the chances you are giving and reading this statement.
