Hi, I'm Diego and soccer has taught me many different life skills, but it’s also given me the opportunity to realize that passion and hard work are not enough to succeed in the sport, there are always going to be challenges on and off the field that require skills like how to manage people and learning to deal with failure. I strive to be the best I possibly can whether that’s in school, on the pitch or as a person and give 110% at everything I put my mind towards and I don’t stop until I’ve reached my goal. Being a goalkeeper isolates you in the unique position to create your own success, something I have learned to translate into life off the pitch, like being self-driven at school and setting high standards for myself. Academics are just as important to me as soccer is now and in college because they are the jumping off point for the rest of my life, I am passionate and determined in school and love to learn. When on the pitch I’m a leader by building confidence and trust with my team and I motivate them constantly through consistent communication at training or during the game. I love this beautiful game and I continuously strive to be better than I was yesterday, and, on your roster, I would continue this mentality while motivating my fellow teammates to do the same.
