Throughout my college years I envision myself playing the sport that I'm very passionate for, soccer. I have been playing soccer since I was three and I loved every moment from the beginning. Throughout my soccer career there have been many ups and downs but, through the downs I've always tried to find a way to make soccer a positive thing that I can enjoy. Soccer is a very physically and mentally involved sport that is very therapeutic and drives my passion for the sport. I use soccer as a way to ground myself in life, between school and life things can get stressful. I enjoy how competitive soccer can be, as I am a very competitive person wanting to play at the next level.
Many of my strengths as a player lead me to be able to play the level of soccer I currently am at. My strengths in leadership, coachability, and determination show that I can be a valuable asset to a team. My leadership skills can be seen on and off the field, as a captain of my highschool team and a leader of my club team. As a center back my leadership skills are a very strong asset for the team. I am a very vocal player on the field as I can see a lot of what is happening, directing teammates on man marking, movement of the ball, and bringing the team together. I am a disciplined and coachable player on the field. I try to do what is best for the team and make adjustments that coaches ask me to make. I always try to perfect as much of my game as I can by listening to advice and directions from coaches. My determination and mentality of the game is a strength that can be an asset to a team. Trying to be the best player I can during practice and during games is a very important thing to me. Even if that means training on my own time to make myself a better version of myself as a player.
My main goal for college is to play at a collegiate level of soccer while achieving academic excellence in a study of sports medicine. Although playing at a collegiate level of soccer is a important goal of mine, I would also like to be able to achieve a degree in pre-med and physical science putting my education in and out of the classroom first. Another goal of mine would be to develop even more as a player and person throughout my college soccer and academic careers.
