For most of my life, I’ve bounced around and dabbled in many different sports; I played soccer, tennis, baseball, and swimming, but nothing really stuck with me until I tried volleyball my freshman year. I instantly fell in love with the sport, the atmosphere, and the people. I played on my school’s freshman team my very first year as a setter, and I loved it. We weren’t star players, but we had so much fun that I knew I couldn’t quit. So I worked hard for the next two years, and eventually made varsity my junior year. I was the starting setter on a below average team while at the same time keeping my grades up in higher level classes, but I wasn’t going to stop there. We played our hearts out that year and ended up beating our hometown rival, but when school season ended, club season started. My one issue with team sports is the drama. I am a firm believer that drama should stay off the courts, but that wasn’t the case on my club team. I was a bench warmer, but I wasn't going to get discouraged; I worked hard and when I finally got to play, I played my heart out. Sadly this season was cut short due to Covid-19, but I have continued to practice at home however I can in order to make myself the best volleyball player I can be.
