Hello! My name is Rhys Gibson and I am in the class of 2025 at Broomfield High School in Broomfield, Colorado. I have been swimming competitively since 2016, and I have been swimming with the Front Range Barracudas since 2020. I am interested in studying engineering in college and I would love to compete as a short to middle distance swimmer in backstroke and freestyle at the collegiate level.
I have high standards set for myself when it comes to academics and athletics. I strive to be a positive and uplifting teammate at competitions and at practice, and having strong character plays a huge role in my life. Discipline, integrity, and service are some of the values that I uphold.
Outside the pool, I love to ski, mountain bike, and volunteer for my local church, including going on international mission trips. I also mentor middle school students at my church’s youth group. Last summer I had the chance to go to Belize where my group built the foundation to a church as well as played soccer with the local kids. I’m headed to Jamaica this summer for another mission trip.
