My name is Jackson Blythe. I've been on a year-round swim team since second grade and have moved from the developmental stage to our National team. I've represented Florida in the Southern Regions Zones meet. I've placed in the top three in many large state and NCSA meets. I enjoy both individual events and relays. In the spring of 2019, I competed in the YMCA National Championship meet. I qualified for the 2020 YMCA National Championship meet but it was canceled due to Covid-19. Swimming in that level of meet is exciting and drives me to train harder, smarter, and set both short term and long term goals. During the quarantine, I was able to continue swimming and dryland workouts to stay in shape and continue to focus on technique and endurance. During the summer, I balance swim team and lifeguarding. I hope to add WSI training to certify me to help with lessons and assistant coaching too.
I earned my Eagle Scout, the highest rank awarded from the Boy Scouts of America, at age 15. I attend school at Liberty Christian Prep in Tavares, Florida. As a junior, I was dual-enrolled at Lake Sumter State College and have already earned 6 college hours in Speech and Computer Programing. I will continue to take classes at both LCP and LSSC during my senior year. I'm interested in engineering and am confident I can balance college classes with swimming competitively. My long term goal is to graduate from college as an engineer and to continue my swimming career.
