I have been swimming for the past 8 years. During this time, I have seen myself grow as a person, both in and out of the pool. I have also seen the growth of a team and how I can do my part to support that.
I have learned that success takes consistent hard work. In the years I’ve been swimming, I have gone from coming in last and not qualifying for local championship meets to earning my spot on the national team and competing at Y Nats for the past 3 years.
My club team has shown significant growth and success in the past few years. We placed 2nd in 2017 YMCA Short Course Nationals, the highest finish ever for our team. I attend an International Baccalaureate charter school but swim for my local high school during Idaho’s high school swim season. Our High School team has been state champions all three years I have been a member.
I was able to contribute to the success for both club and high school as a member of the scoring freestyle relays at Y Nats and as a member of the medley and freestyle relays in high school. I have also placed in the top three individually in high school state since I was a freshman.
I plan on majoring in Agriculture or Biochemical Engineering. I feel that I have growth and potential as a swimmer and am seeking a school that supports me as a student and an athlete.
