When I was younger, I wanted to be good at something. This wasn't an easy thing for me because I struggled with many health and physical issues. As you can imagine, everything was a challenge for me. My parents sent me to physical and occupational therapy for years and enrolled me in swimming at 6 years old. Swimming was my therapy and my saving grace. When I am in the water, nothing else matters. I became a strong swimmer. I had less asthma, more coordination and became one of the top swimmers on both of my teams. I have worked very hard to rise above these challenges. I was able to make the varsity swim team freshman year of high school and obtained an academic scholarship to attend my current high school. In my junior year, I was voted in to be one of the co-captains of our high school swim team for my senior year. My goal is to make my parents proud of me and to get an excellent education in the area of forensic science, while swimming and representing my new school with the sport that has made me who I am. I want to achieve these goals with my future coach(es) and teammates by my side, and with parents as my cheerleaders, as they have always been such an important part of my life.
