My name is Bryce Williams and I am beginning the process of looking to swim in college. I understand swimming is a big commitment and that is why I wish to peruse this challenge. I was late to the sport of swimming compared to many of my teammates, but feel that has only motivated me to work harder. While they were all working on the finer aspects of the sport I was learning the how to use blocks and how to do a flip turn. By my freshman year I feel I had closed the gap and was able to swim varsity on a top ten ranked team in the state. Swimming next to a high level D1 swimmier (Kevin Braun 2016) I was able to see what it takes to be a D1 swimmer. Although my times do not, and most likely will not meet his times I do feel I have the work ethic and deduction to swim at the next level. My sophomore year I remained on varsity and began to see my times drop, while my confidence rose. Our relay was even able to break one of Kevin Braun's school records and missed another by .01. This year has been a growing year, I made it to every 6 AM practice (except 1) and of course every after school practice. Over the next few years I hope to continue to see my times drop to the point where I can continue my college swimming career at the D3 level. Of course I want to make sure my grades remain my #1 priority and want to attend a school that will allow me to swim and pursue a top level education. I feel swimming is what keeps me focused and structured, I work hard for swimming and swimming works for me.
