Hello, my name is Luc Diefenbach.
I have swam for WSC (Wichita Swim Club) in the Missouri Valley Conference for seven years, and three years at Andover High School. As a Senior, I am eager to mark my final year with my high school and club teams successfully. My current goals for high school are to continue developing my leadership skills and to be a role model to every other swimmer on the team. I also would like to make top three at state this year and hopefully become a state champion in my senior year.
With the pandemic impacting my Junior and Senior years, I have learned a lot but I haven't let the cancellations of meets and long course deter me. I was fortunate to be part of a club that was allowed to operate safely so that meant I didn't have a gap in training. That gave me time in the pool, even though I had to get used to wearing a mask coming right out of the water!
Swimming has already taught me so much. Commitment, perseverance, teamwork and to pursue excellence - even if you have setbacks. I also feel I am coachable and always want feedback to keep getting better. I thrive on recognition to continually improve.
Every year I have competed, I have been able to tweak, refine and improve my times. It was a great feeling when I was awarded second-team All-state early in my high school season. My positive outlook on life combined with my ability to juggle extracurricular activities and all of the hard classes I am taking has equipped me to make an impact on a college swim team while getting a good education. I like to work hard and be on top to give my best.
I am open to exploring D1, D2, and D3 schools any where in the U.S. I believe these divisions will allow the flexibility to compete and achieve academic goals. While I was born and raised in the Midwest, I have family that lives across the U.S. and even on multiple continents so I am interested in other cultures and diverse communities.
I would be open to considering any location to just be able to swim at a higher level and really explore my options to give myself more opportunity in my life.
I look forward to being considered for your program.
Thank you,
Luc
