Water is my comfort. When I swim I can focus on the feel of the water, my breath, how my body moves in the water, and the world melts away. I love to swim. During the last two years of High School I have learned that my learning style and thought processes are different from others. As I have found new ways to learn and become a better student I have had swimming to give me an outlet.  Swimming calms my mind and when I’m racing it is easy to focus on what I need to do in the water. I love to help my peers in the pool and thrive with teammates who push me to be better in positive ways. This year I became the only kid in my school who swims at this level. I have learned a lot about mental toughness and hope that other kids in town see me excel and want to join me!
