Mason Wilczewski '17 Recruiting Profile

College swimming is the next chapter for me. Having been blessed to be a member of  a nationally ranked D1 Swimming Championship at my high school for 3 years in a row, I have developed lifelong friendships in my teammates and have been mentored by some of the best swimmers in the  country.  I have been swimming competitively since the age of 5, it is has become my identity and the only sport I know.  It is my team that drives and motivates me to do my personal "bests".  Although I may receive a first place finish, if my focused goal time has not been achieved, my race is not complete.  Training vigorously every day, I prepare myself for every moment and every event.  My strength is my team and every individual on it, they become my family. I represent them with the utmost respect and integrity and realize that I render them everywhere in both my actions and my ability.  What makes me unique and drives me towards collegiate swimming is my mental attitude.  Academics and team are equal parts to me, they are balanced mentally and the strive for perfection both in and out of the pool is in my being.
